Scripps Ranch is one of the most coveted communities within the city of  San Diego and is known as one of the more affluent neighborhoods. It has a lot to offer when it comes to schools, outdoor activities, dining, and quality of life.

Scripps Ranch has some of the best schools in San Diego. According to the website Greatschools.com  Jerabek Elementary School ranks 10 our 10 and Miramar Ranch Elementary also ranks 10 out of 10. Marshall Middle School  ranks a respectable 9 out of 10 and  Scripps Ranch High School  ranks a 10 out of 10. One of the main reasons why people want to live in Scripps Ranch is because the schools are great and not only are the schools top notch, but there is a plethora of activities to participate in.

Located off Interstate 15 just north of Tierrasanta, east of Mira Mesa and south of Poway and located close to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar where the infamous film Top Gun was filmed, except it was Naval Air Station Miramar back then.

Scripps Ranch started as a 400-acre ranch owned by E.W. Scripps and Ellen Browning Scripps. Eventually in 1891 E.W Scripps ended up purchasing 2100 acres of the barren, stoney, lifeless land. There were many naysayers who thought he was a fool for building his Ranch home so far away from the city. However, in today’s environment, Scripps Ranch is now located almost dead center in San Diego County and has some of the most beautiful lush vegetation and many mature eucalyptus trees lining Pomerado Road. My, how things have changed!
