Talmadge is a small hidden community just east of the posh neighborhood of Kensington and lies just south of the 8 east freeway close to San Diego State University. Talmadge was first established in 1925 and named after Norma Talmadge and her sister which were silent film stars and today boast homes that have a Spanish flair as well as California bungalows, Craftsman, Cape Cod, Cottage, and Normandy style homes. Think of Talmadge as one of the main Mid-Modern Century neighborhoods in San Diego.
